FAQ
1. Who accepts evaluations completed by GCE?
- a) Immigration: Our educational credential evaluations meet immigration regulations.
- b) Colleges and Universities: Many colleges and universities accept our evaluations. All evaluations by credential evaluation
companies (including our company) are advisory to U.S. colleges and universities. Each school has policies regarding the evaluation of international applicant’s educational credentials. These policies are different from university to university. You should contact the college or university where you intend to apply to determine:
- i) whether it accepts evaluations from credential evaluation companies or performs its own in-house evaluations
- ii) whether it will accept an evaluation from Global Credential Evaluators, Inc. GCE is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES®)
- c) Employment Placement Agencies
- d) Certification Board
- e) U.S. Military

An automated e-mail will be sent within one business day of receipt of all required application materials. If you do not receive this e-mail please check your junk mail box before contacting us.
3. May I hand-deliver my materials to your office?
GCE conducts business by mail, FAX, or online and cannot accept applications, documents, or payment on a ‘walk-in’ basis. However, special arrangements can be made for courier delivery of your materials if you wish. Please contact us by telephone to make these arrangements.

We do not provide translations. However, you may contact us for recommendations.
5. Will you accept my own translation of my educational documents?
All non-English documents must be accompanied by certified English translations
6. What kind of evaluation do I need and what does it cost?
Please refer to question 7 and Services
7. What does an evaluation contain?
Document by Document Report- This report identifies and describes each credential and provides its U.S. equivalent.
Document-by-Document Report with GPA – This report identifies and describes each credential, provides its U.S. equivalent, and U.S. grade point average (GPA). A high school GPA will be included for a nursing evaluation or if less than one year of university course work is completed.
Course by Course Report – This report identifies and describes each credential, provides its U.S. equivalent, U.S. grade point average (GPA) and U.S. credit and grade equivalent for each subject studied. A high school GPA will be included for a nursing evaluation or if less than one year of university course work is completed.
8. How long does it take to get an evaluation?
An evaluation will be prepared in approximately 10 to 15 working days. We do provide a one-business day rush service and a three-business day rush service at an additional cost to the required evaluation fee. Rush service refers to the time necessary to complete the evaluation and does not include mail time. If you need your evaluation by a certain date, please use rush service. The 10 to 15 day turnaround time is NOT GUARANTEED!
9. May I submit copies of my records and translations or does it have to come directly from the school?
Copies are acceptable, but original records are preferred. We reserve the right to request original transcripts sent directly to GCE by the university or school attended. Many universities require evaluations to be completed from original documents. Please contact the university you plan to attend to determine their policy.
10. Do you evaluate documents of high school students for placement in U.S. schools?
GCE evaluates foreign secondary level credentials to establish United States high school diploma comparability. Where foreign educational systems offer secondary programs, which exceed the equivalent of U.S. senior high school graduation, university credit in lower division undergraduate subjects is considered.
11. Do you evaluate all higher education as equivalent to a U.S. degree or graduate degree?
Some degrees issued in a foreign country are not equivalent to a U.S. degree. GCE evaluates international academic records to establish United States university equivalency using the following:
- a. The evaluation is completed using the content of the program and the number of years of full time study completed.
- b. One year of full time university course work completed at a school or university outside the U.S. is equivalent to one year of university credit offered by an accredited U.S. university.
- c. Academic records providing credits, coefficients, clock hours, maximum marks or ECTS of instruction will be adjusted to U.S. credits.
- d. Transcripts which do not indicate credits or contact hours each course will be assigned equal credits.
12. I have a medical doctor’s degree. Can you evaluate my degree so I would be able to practice as a physician in the United States?
Licensing to practice medicine in the U.S. requires an evaluation of academic credentials as well as a series of examinations. We can help in the process. GCE recommends contacting the state board to which you intend to apply to confirm a GCE report is acceptable and, if so, what type of evaluation report is required.
13. What type of report is needed for the Certified Public Accountancy (CPA) boards?
Requirements for Certified Public Accountancy vary depending on the state to which the individual is applying. GCE recommends you contact the state board to which you intend to apply to confirm a GCE report is acceptable and what type of evaluation report is required.
14. What should I do if I have questions or concerns about my evaluation?
You have 90 days to provide a written request for a review of your evaluation based on documents submitted with the original application. Please explain the problem and the reason you feel an error has been made. Upon receiving the written request we will have two evaluators review your concerns and your evaluation. Remember the U.S. system of credits and grades may be different than those in your country.
If you did not submit all pertinent academic records and your complaint is based on the missing material, a re-evaluation fee is required along with the documents to be added to the evaluation. This fee is equivalent to the original fee for the original evaluation.
15. What if I have new documents to be added to an evaluation previously done?
Any client may submit a new application with new documents to be added to an evaluation previously completed. Once an evaluation is completed, no information will be deleted.
16. What if I want information removed from my evaluation?
Once an evaluation is completed no information will be deleted.
17. Can you fax or e-mail me my evaluation?
The cost for this additional service is $20.00 to U.S. FAX numbers ONLY. This is not an official evaluation.
18. Can I obtain additional copies of my evaluation report at a later date?
Additional copies can be requested at any time. Please refer to Copy Request
